Should You Choose Curved Curtain Rod?

Aug 20th

Should you install curved curtain rod for your window just because you like it? While unusually shaped windows can add a lot of character to a house, they also pose challenges to those decorators who want to equip them with curtains, swags or curtains. Windows with anything other than a straight, horizontal top are not suitable for the function of normal curtains, and so customized options must be found.

This is a beautifully curved curtain rod but poses a challenge to the curtain maker because a normal curtain must be flat on the top of work properly when it is pulled open and closed. The simplest solution for handling a vaulted window is to hang a regular curtain rod with normal curtains at the highest point of the arch. Although this will look good when the curtains are closed, it looks a bit odd with the curtains open.

If your window didn’t match with awesome curved curtain rod you can try another style. The second easiest solution is to hang a short curtain, just covering the bow and not opening and closing, and normal curtains beneath it. The third, hardest and most effective solution is to make custom curtains that match the curve of the bow. Unless you’re good at sewing, this is the best of a professional.
